Ford announces series of alliances

Ford Motor Co and Maytag Corp have joined forces to develop a concept vehicle that integrates custom-designed Maytag appliances into the 2000 Windstar minivan. The automaker has also formed a partnership with Sprint PCS to provide digital, voice-activated wireless voice and data solutions to some models of 2001 Lincoln. Similarly, Ford has partnered with Sony Electronics Inc to build the Sony Limited Edition Focus. The Sony Limited Edition Focus is aimed at Generation Y consumers.

I-Jam uses Pre-Pak to introduce the LP

I-Jam Multimedia LLC is utilizing IOMEGA Corp's PocketZip disk as the basis for the new secure way to distribute pre-recorded music, best- selling books and digital magazines. Called the License Plate or LP, the new product is an innovative form of content storage that is about the size and shape of a silver dollar. I-Jam will showcase the new product through point-of-purchase Pre-Paks, which include Iomega HipZip players bundled with a free sampler LP.

Sony Electronics debuts convergence retail display

Park Ridge, NJ-based Sony Electronics Inc has launched a kiosk that provides an interactive experience when shopping for Sony audio, video and information technology products. The kiosk, which has been installed in over 700 retail stores across the country, is designed to be a one-stop display fixture by integrating cameras, personal computers, printers, camcorders and other digital products in one location.
