GAO alerts DOD to mobility study 'Catch-22'

Article Abstract:

An anomaly within the Pentagon's own process has hampered the Government Accountability Office (GAO) in its ability to monitor the conduct of the Department of Defense (DOD) Mobility Capabilities Study (MCS) as mandated by the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC). The DOD is going about conducting its MCS in a manner 'equivalent' to the way it has carried out 'verification, validation and accreditation (VV&A) studies in the past and therefore a 'Catch-22' would emerge for the GAO.
