Imaging steals a march on EDI

Article Abstract:

Imaging technology is being noted as a new and efficient way of processing and storing paper documents. Banks are using programs that use images of actual checks to provide information simultaneously to different clients. Imaging actually enables a user to establish access to formerly cancelled checks, speedy retrieval of specific checks and create a reduced storage space. However, it is limited since it works only on standardized documents that can be instantly fed through an automatic image-capture assembly line.

Cinderella story

Article Abstract:

The popularity of junk bonds is increasing due to the strong economic climate and the entrance of large commercial banks. High-yield issuance faces less risk in the 1990s than just a decade before. Banks are using franchises in high-yield lending to enter the underwriting market. In 1997, 827 issues raised $125.1 billion, a 73% increase over 1996 totals.
