Insiders at these regional banks are making withdrawals

Article Abstract:

Insiders at regional banks have began accumulating shares given the high stock prices. The stock prices were relatively high due to the increased number of mergers and acquisitions in the regional banking industry. Since corporate buyers preferred lower prices and were not participating in stock transactions, more insiders profited from these stock prices. Insider sales from regional banking institutions, together with their corresponding stock prices, are provided.

Sell side follow-up

Article Abstract:

Ten executives of Qualcomm Inc. have sold or intended to sell a total of 219,510 shares at $56.93 to $60.00 each last Dec. 13, 1996 to Jan. 27, 1997. This inside selling has led to speculations by investors that the company's stocks may be on the decline trend due to uncertainties regarding the company's competitive position in the wireless telecommunications industry. Qualcomm develops, manufactures and operates advanced digital wireless communications systems.

Lack of quality in insider buying

Article Abstract:

Inside buying usually is a sign that a company's stocks are going to pick up. However, these may not hold true every time. At Witco insiders bought 44,699 shares at prices between $30.50 and $31.00 each. Later, investigations showed that the buys happened simultaneously with a restructuring plan that may require Witco executives to increase their ownership of company stock, making these acquisitions of no importance to speculators.
