Computer power for these taxing times

Article Abstract:

There are a number of software packages to deal with United Kingdom income tax returns, and they are expecially likely to be useful with the new self-assessment system. The tax authorities offer their own package free of charge but it cannot be used by the self employed or by people with relatively complex affairs. Taxpayers still have to find the information needed on capital transactions, unearned income and the like, but using software helps them to be more logical and systematic.

Bells and whistles

Article Abstract:

Investors going beyond the basic software products can use more sophisticated general packages, or opt for specialist packages. Suppliers of general packages include Synergy and Updata. Specialist packages focus on areas such as Gann analysis, and they be be supplements to general packages. Users should first try the packages since they are committing a large amount of money when they buy them. They can also use basic packages which are then upgraded.

Packaged paths to profits

Article Abstract:

Professional investors tend to use computers to help with investment decisions involving options. Private investors do not have access to sophisticated systems but they can obtain benefits from using simple software packages. Options pricing models help assess the value of options under different conditions. Technical analysis packages allow investors to assess stock price patterns and so time their investments to obtain better returns.
