Israelis test sub-launched cruise missile

Article Abstract:

Israeli naval forces are believed to have test-fired a cruise missile from a Dolphin-class submarine off the coast of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean. The report, which appeared in the British press in mid-Jun 2000, was immediately denied by the Israeli government. However, military analysts see the deployment of a portion of the country's ballistic missile capacity to sea-borne platforms as a viable complement to its land-based capabilities.

Naval gunfire support...from the DD-21

Article Abstract:

United Defense LP's 155-mm naval gun for the DD-21 program was featured prominently during the 2000 Navy League show in Washington. The gun, six of which will be installed aboard the DD-21, is expected to provide the fire support needed by US Marines while infiltrating targets beyond the shorelines. United Defense's 155-mm guns are therefore seen as the key element of the US Navys DD-21 program.

Article Abstract:

L3 has unveiled its Tsunami hull-mounted sonar at the 2000 Navy League show in Washington.
