Lockheed Martin makes Aegis more open

Article Abstract:

Aegis, the Lockheed Martin Corp. radar system widely deployed by the Navy, has moved towards open architecture, building upon an ongoing record in this arena. The newly achieved step supports the Navy's Aegis Open Architecture (AOA) program, thereby reducing the cost of the Aegis system as well as boosting its capabilities and extends its service life.
