Job enlargement and mechanical exposure variability in cyclic assembly work

Article Abstract:

One way of decreasing the musculoskeletal disorder risk arising out of cyclic assembly is to have operators rotate between work tasks on separate workstation. The assumption was investigated by assessing mechanical exposure variability in three assembly tasks in an electronics assembly plant each on a separate workstation as well as in a 'job enlargement' scenario combining the three stations.

The effects of occupational interventions on reduction of musculoskeletal symptoms in the nursing profession

Article Abstract:

Studies were conducted to gain insight into the effects of occupational interventions for primary prevention of musculoskeletal symptoms in healthcare workers. It was concluded that branch specific occupational interventions for the reduction of musculoskeletal symptoms in healthcare workers might be effective, especially when training and education were combined with other interventions.

Variability in mechanical exposure within and between individuals performing a highly constrained industrial work task

Article Abstract:

The importance of exposure variability data to the design of proper measurement strategies is discussed. Substantial exposure variability was found within and between subjects in all joint locations and for both hand-held tools.
