Sony Electronics Inc of Park Ridge, NJ, has unveiled a new line of FD Mavica Digital Cameras for still imaging. The models included in the line of cameras are the 2.1-megapixel MVC-FD97, the 1.3-megapixel MVC-FD92, MVC-FD75 and the 1.3-megapixel MVC-FD87. All cameras feature USB connectivity, 2.5-inch LCD monitors and built-in flash. They also all have the ability to record TIFF, JPEG and short video movie clips.

The unit has the ability to make still images or full-motion VGA video in QuickTime by capturing data on the CD-R-like 780 MB iD PHOTO disk that can hold 12,000 still image at VGA resolution. The camera's features include electronic TTL viewfinder and 1.8-inch LCD monitor and built-in flash.
