The US President George W. Bush and Republicans congressional leaders want to make tax cuts permanent or at least extend them to help avoid the fiscal deficit faced by defense procurement programs. Analysts believe that there are ways in which the fiscal crunch can be resolved, but the solution will not be simple, easy or obvious.
