Lockheed Martin picks EADS radar for LCS, WMSL

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin Corp. has selected a radar system from the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) to go into its version of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) that the company is building for the Navy. It is expected that the two companies are joining forces in a similar manner respecting the Coast Guard program called the Maritime Security Cutter, Large (WMSL).

Lockheed Martin pod targets Australian market

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp., and Raytheon Co. are competing to provide targeting systems for Australia's F/A-18 Hornets aircraft and Lockheed Martin may win out given that the US Air Force has approved its product. Targeting pods are airborne devices that provide laser-guided bombs and other weaponry direction by identifying on-ground targets.

GPS network gets second 'modernized' satellite

Article Abstract:

The Air Force Space Command's global positioning system (GPS) satellite constellation has got the second of eight satellites to be modernized through a program for which Lockheed Martin Corp. is the prime contractor. The second satellite delivery is part of a process of placing all eight updated GPS satellite into orbit by 2007.
