Lynda Coral: planning for the pregnant pause

Article Abstract:

Accountant Lynda Coral's pregnancy did not prevent Capital and Regional Properties PLC (C&R) from offering her the positions of company secretary and main board member, nor has it hindered her from performing her duties as such. Coral is fortunate in that she belongs to a rare organization that supports her efforts to balance a career and a family. She regrets the fact that not too many women are given the same opportunity to rise to her level, knowing firsthand that combining job and family responsibilities is not an impossible feat. Coral is convinced that women who choose to pursue a career do not necessarily have to sacrifice parenthood or family life, and would like to see more women realize this.
