Material protects army fuel trucks: Engineering firm sees big markets with thin coating

Article Abstract:

A defense engineering company from the US, VSE Corporation, is applying an advanced coating on Army fuel tankers deployed in Iraq to protect them from insurgents' small arms fire. VSE Corp. has got two contracts from the US army worth $87.4 million for the project and it is looking forward to expand the market for the new material polyurethane, which is being used on the Army tankers.

NLOS-C to provide Army with first look at FCS

Article Abstract:

United Defense Inc. is preparing to give the United States Army an early look at its Future Combat Systems (FCS) in two or three years by delivering the first vehicle among its network. The company leads in the development of the Non-Line Of Sight Cannon, or NLOS-C, and Congress has mandated the company to provide six to eight copies of the vehicle in fiscal 2007 or 2008.
