Minimalistic online sales folder entices advertisers to look

Article Abstract:

The Orlando Sentinel, a newspaper based in Orlando, FL, is producing its third straight sales folder within 12 months through the Orlando Sentinel Interactive for its four Internet services. The Orlando Sentinel Interactive is meant to market online merchandise in a timely manner before these become obsolete. Orlando Sentinel Interactive promotions coordinator Scott Stephens noted that the sales folder, which has already helped the newspaper meet its objectives for the primary year, has been quite successful.

The power of print

Article Abstract:

A survey done by the Newspaper Assn of America indicates that two-thirds of Internet users in the top 50 US markets read a newspaper daily. Another study conducted by the Scarborough Research shows that seven out of 10 online newspaper users also read printed newspapers with the same frequency. These findings bode well for advertisers since newspapers still offer the best advertising opportunity to capture the biggest market share in the most efficient manner possible.

The "new" baby boomers

Article Abstract:

Newspapers must research and understand the preferences of teenagers if this particular group will be the replacement to their most loyal and core audience of 'aging and older' readers. One of the sources of data on teenage preferences that newspapers can rely on is the Teenage Marketing & Lifestyle Study. Subscribers to this survey include The Gap, the WB TV network and other companies that are interested in developing the teen market.
