Needles in December's haystack

Article Abstract:

An analysis of insider selling in securities during Dec 1992 indicates that the actions were triggered by other factors other than Pres Bill Clinton's proposed tax reforms. Many insiders cleared out shares near the year lows, negating the impact of the tax factor. Majority of the issues which showed substantial insider distribution have declined. A list of the issues where insider selling occured at the lows during the end of 1992 is presented.

Soft landing ... soft sales

Article Abstract:

Investors in retail shares stand to be among the biggest losers if the market undergoes a correction. This is because bullish forecasts for retail shares appear not to have materialized. An increase in insider selling in the retail industry indicates that both insiders and investors are bracing themselves for a drop in the stock. Retail stocks have not been performing well in 1995.
