Navy has the big picture

Article Abstract:

Naval Sea Systems Command Commander Vice Adm George P. Nanos Jr is heading a new, joint-service systems engineering initiative to support the Single Integrated Air Picture (SIAP) program. SIAP is a single, comprehensive, integrated data display of air-defense tracks detected by air-, ground- and sea-based sensors of the entire armed services. It would support targeting by Navy ships, tactical aircraft and Army and Marine Corp air- defense sites. Vice Adm Nanos' new office will define the requirements for the SIAP.
