Neuron-restrictive silencer elements mediate neuron specificity of adenoviral gene expression

Article Abstract:

Researchers from Rhone-Poulenc Rorer and Hopital de la Pitie' Salpetriere, France used neuron-selective silencer elements to to target neural adenoviral vectors in the central nervous system to avoid side effects in the treatment of diseases of the nervous system.

Direct and sensitive detection of a human virus by rupture event scanning

Article Abstract:

Researchers at the University of Cambridge, UK have developed a method, called rupture event scanning, that is so sensitive that it might be able to detect a single virus. Viruses are attracted to an oscillating surface of a quartz crystal microbalance.
