Oxford Health draws 'line in the sand.'

Article Abstract:

Oxford Health Plans has adopted a turnaround plan to offset its 1998 second quarter loss of $507 million on $1.2 billion revenues. Oxford CEO Norman Payson said that the frim is rebuilding its operations based on an extraordinary franchise value and a leading market position in the New York Metropolitan market. Hill and Knowlton (H&K) is the public relations firm of Oxford since December 1997. H&K placed an advertisement in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times showing Oxford chairman Stephen Wiggins' letter of a brighter future indicating the company's over $4 billion in annual revenues and as well as a loyal group of 36,000 physicians and 45,000 employer customers.

Lauren wraps himself in American flag

Article Abstract:

Ralph Lauren's Polo line, which was started in 1967, is slated for a new patriotic American facelift with the company's announcement of a $13 million contribution to the Smithsonian Institution's project to restore the flag depicted in Francis Scott Key's "Star Spangled Banner." The gift, which is the largest in the history of the Smithsonian Institution, will complete the museum's $18 million flag restoration fund. Media representatives observed that Polo Ralph Lauren has received enough publicity to compensate the company for the donation.
