Perceived competence in computer use as a moderator of musculoskeletal strain in VDU work: an ergonomics intervention case

Article Abstract:

Video display unit work is the prime reason for musculoskeletal discomfort and this study investigates the success of ergonomics intervention procedure. A stressful user-computer relationship prevents motivation, and to increase computer competence it is important to improve the physical worksite and work organization.

Environmental and human factors influencing thermal comfort of office occupants in hot-humid and hot- arid climates

Article Abstract:

The effects of environmental and individual factors on thermal sensation in air conditional office environments are analyzed. 836 office workers in the humid location of Townville were surveyed, and 935 workers in the hot-arid Kalgoorlie-Boulder were surveyed.

Moisture accumulation in sleeping bags at - 7 degrees C and - 20 degrees C in relation to cover material and method of use

Article Abstract:

Sleeping bags were tested for moisture accumulation during six days of use at -7 degrees C. and 5 days at -20 degrees C. with semi permeable and impermeable rain covers. Results showed that semi-permeable covers were more suitable for use over a longer period.
