London's Jessica Ogden, who launched her self-named label in 1993, has won respect in the world of fashion while maintaining an outsider's view of that world. Ogden collects fabrics from antique fairs and sometimes won't use them for years. Her current spring collection, called Dustry Days, is based on photographs from her childhood in Jamaica. Unlike other designers, who tend to all go with the latest trends, every garment has Ogden's personal touch in it. All of her work is made in limited runs as determined by the amount of fabric available.

Property rates in Berlin are very cheap and international designers and artists are taking advantage of this and are renting or buying space for their studios and workshop in this city. But Berlin's financial health is very poor as there are no big industries, however it is creative and inspirational and projects like Create Berlin are promoting the city as design hub and hope that Berlin will eventually become the world class city again.

Frog design launched the DreamDesk PC in August 2004 which is a rugged Windows machine with a friendly interface, preloaded liquid crystal display monitor and pre loaded Disney games and software to allow kids to draw, write music, and create films. The Dream Desk system is priced at $650 and its features are discussed.
