Cheap ways to swap your shares

Article Abstract:

UK share exchange schemes allow investors to swap shares and avoid high minimum commissions charged by stockbrokers. Abtrust is one company offering a share exchange scheme. Not all of these schemes offer good value. Investors should compare charges against charges they would pay if they carried out deals themselves. Trust providers such as M and G which buy shares into portfolios are likely to offer good deals, but these may not always be advertised.

Investing internationally: overview (benefits of international diversification)

Article Abstract:

Investors can obtain a number of benefits from geographical diversification, despite fears arising from economic problems in Asia and Russia. Companies are increasingly taking a global view and investors should do so too. United Kingdom investors will be affected by tax changes with the introduction of Individual Savings Accounts which remove geographical restrictions previously imposed with personal equity plans, one of the schemes that they replace.
