Rapid solutions: update on desktop prototyping

Article Abstract:

Light Machines Corp's ProLight 3000 is a computer-controlled lathe that allows speedy and precise manufacture of parts from a wide range of materials like metal and plastics. This $9995 double-axis slant bed machine is used exclusively with IBM-compatible personal computers and standard computer-aided design and manufacture software packages. It can easily produce parts with diameters of up to four inches, with its single-horsepower engine and maximum spindle speed of 3600 revolutions per minute.

Timesavers 300 Industrial Sanding Machine

Article Abstract:

Timesavers Inc's Timesavers 300 industrial sanding machine received a gold award in the equipment category of the 1992 I.D. Annual Design Review. The design of the machine was characterized as well thought out and executed. Designed to replace an older model, the Timesavers 300 has improved ergonomics, safety features and energy efficiency. The deign was the work of De brey Design of Minnetonka, MN, in cooperation with Timesavers Inc in-house designers Lee Stump and Dan Hagen.

Stop making scents: Procter and Gamble's latest contribution to the home is a machine that blasts fragrances

Article Abstract:

A review is made on the new machine 'Febreze Scentstories' which blasts fragrances in a room, created by Procter and Gamble. Although the company is sure of it's product, according to the review, the product is not all that good.
