Procuring gametes for research and therapy

Article Abstract:

The procurement of gametes for research and procreation services poses several major ethical issues to the UK's Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA). The first issue concerns the need to promote gamete donations through monetary rewards. The HFEA follows a discriminatory reward policy which favors male donators. The second issue revolves around the negative public perception which implies that the HFEA is buying and selling gametes. These issues can be addressed by establishing a tariff-type payment system which is both undiscriminatory and positive for the HFEA's public image.

Routine diagnosis

Article Abstract:

Asperger's Syndrome is a mild form of autism affecting one in 200 people, where intelligence is often very high, but the individual has poor social skills and craves routine. Accommodating a person with Asperger's Syndrome is as important as providing facilities for employees with physical disabilities, but what is required is a 'hearts and mind' change in people rather than a modification to the building.
