Rule 4.2 companies get September deadline

Article Abstract:

The London Stock Exchange has set Sep. 29, 1995 as the deadline for eligible companies wishing to join its new Alternative Investment Market (AIM) under the transitional arrangements. Trading on the new bourse is scheduled to begin on June 19, 1995. To qualify for transitional arrangements, companies must have traded its securities in compliance with rule 4.2 prior to May 1, 1995. If they meet this requirement, they must then submit a simplified admissions document that should include detailed information about the companies' securities, share capital and activities. Those firms included in the Official List or quoted on the Unlisted Securities Market may apply for permission to trade their shares on AIM by submitting a completed application and by appointing a nominated adviser and broker.

Smaller company equities looking good

Article Abstract:

The London stock market is showing signs of a brighter economic outlook for 1992. An estimated 24% increase in stock market valuation was recently reported, reflecting investors' growing confidence in the future of the economy. Corporate earnings are expected to rise by approximately 15% in 1992 and remain stable in 1992, suggesting that equities, as compared to other types of investments, continue to be highly attractive. The stock market, however, can be affected by two factors: political uncertainty regarding election date, and the demands by the corporate sector on the equity market.
