Learning 1, planning 0: reply to Igor Ansoff

Article Abstract:

Henry Mintzberg maintains that strategic planning is not the be all and end all in organizational management. In his rejoinder to the criticisms of Igor Ansoff, Mintzberg claims that emergent, non-formal learning must go hand-in-hand with deliberate planning. Design schools may just be providing seductive strategic management models that will turn out to be ineffective when actually implemented.
