Steve Trygg: the 21st century ad man

Article Abstract:

Steve Trygg has successfully led the agency Anderson & Lembke Inc (ALI) using his flexibility and foresight. He has been credited for creative copy writing which has gained recognition for his company. Through his leadership the agency is now worth $65 million and he is striving to regain its independence from Chiat/Day/Mojo. Trygg is shifting the agency to television advertising so it can enter the consumer market and not be limited to the industrial market.

Ad attacks: sniping continues in computer, info services and, of course, political arenas

Article Abstract:

Competing companies continue their battles in the advertisement field. As computer companies accuse each other of false information, counter-attack advertisements are not far behind. Negative advertisements are not exclusive of the computer industry. It has also gained ground in the information services industry. These promotions, which usually culminate in lawsuits, compel advertising agencies to be more mindful of the legalities in advertising.

Lintas watches IBM slowly slip away

Article Abstract:

IBM's Adstar unit is considering whether to hire its own advertising agency or to continue to have its ad needs handled by Lintas:NY which has done the advertising for IBM. Adstar, which is IBM's information storage subsidiary, intends to begin marketing a consumer product by September. Adstar intends to have its products distributed through channels not covered under Lintas contract.
