Structural and regulatory developments in OECD countries

Article Abstract:

Member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development need to implement changes in their financial structures to encourage foreign investment even during an economic crisis. Korea has an inadequate credit system and an imbalanced banking structure which can be remedied by easing regulatory pressure. The Czech Republic amended its banking policies to regain the public's trust and protect foreign investors. The Netherlands modified its legal framework to hasten the gathering of financial information.

Private pension systems: regulatory policies (part 1)

Article Abstract:

Private pension funds are regulated to optimize their benefits and to protect them from financial risks. Aside from providing an alternative to government pensions and flexibility in the availability of the plans, these schemes provide employers with tax incentives to increase access to employees. Balance of regulation is needed to ensure the adequacy of the retirement market and the provision of coverage for beneficiaries.
