Summary recommendations for standardization and reporting of metabolic analyses

Article Abstract:

The Standard Metabolic Reporting Structures (SMRS) group is a collection of interested parties from academia, industry and the government that first came together in November 2003 to derive and recommend standards for conducting and reporting metabonomics studies. The SMRS group's proposed minimum requirements for recording the results of a metabolic study pertain to the origin of a biological sample, the analytical samples used, and the enhanced multivariate statistical method.

A top-down systems biology view of microbiome-mammalian metabolic interactions in a mouse model

Article Abstract:

A mouse model is employed to gain a better understanding of various metabolic interactions of the microbiome-mammalians. Top-down multivariate analysis of metabolic profiles reveals a significant association of specific metabotypes with the resident microbiome.

The challenges of modeling mammalian biocomplexity

Article Abstract:

The measurement and modeling of diverse biological information sets is difficult at the analytical and bioinformatic modeling levels. New approaches are required to measure and model metabolic compartments.
