Summit Health Ltd

Article Abstract:

Summit Health pres Donald Amaral strongly feels that Summit Health's stocks are undervalued. He was vindicated when Summit Health nearly doubled its June, 1992 earnings. He cited "outpatient utilization" as the critical factor that was behind the statistical improvement. He further cited a 15% increase in the the company's outpatient services, and predicts a 12% rise in fiscal 1993. Summit Health, operator of 12 acute care hospitals, has a 51% holding in Summit Care Corp, the nursing home Summit Health founded in March 1992.

Beverly Enterprises, Inc

Article Abstract:

Beverly Enterprises Inc's share prices did not improve despite its first half and June quarter profits but stock market analysts are optimistic about its long-term growth. Salomon Brothers analyst Margo Vignola's prediction of increased share prices for 1992 and 1993 and the July shares purchase of four insiders indicate their confidence in Beverly's potentials. The company provides patients with an alternative to inpatient hospitals and their continued patronage reflects their preference for the nursing homes' services.

Columbia Hospital Corp

Article Abstract:

Wall Street brokerage Morgan Stanley still considers Columbia Hospital Corp as a good stock despite its exclusion from the Emerging Growth Focus List. Columbia CFO David Colby increased his interest to 26,370 shares while Director Russell Schneider sold 20,000 shares. The hospital operator posted a 150% rise in profits and a 200% revenue increase. Columbia's acquisition of Basic American Medical Inc is probably responsible to the increasing statistics. Columbia Chmn Richard L. Scott has a 33.5% interest in the firm.
