Sweeter taste

Article Abstract:

Treatt is a supplier of fragrance and flavor ingredients and has performed well despite difficult markets. The company has been moving away from dependence on orange oil which accounts for 13% of revenue. There has been an increase in natural distillates offered by Treatt, and sugar and honey are new additions. The taste of sugar has been distilled, not its sweetness, and this could be of use for products such as beverages using artificial sweeteners. The company could achieve a profit of some 2 million pounds sterling for 1998 to 1999.
