Switzerland

Article Abstract:

Switzerland's economic recovery in 1994 was triggered by an increase in industrial production. The investment-led economic expansion is projected to bring more than 2% overall GDP growth in 1995. Government deficit in 1994 declined by approximately 4% in 1994 and is expected to drop further in 1995. Monetary policy will remain tight in 1995. The Mexican crisis caused the decline in Swiss short-term rates. The stock market, on the other hand, recorded a total loss of 12% from early 1994 to Jan. 1995.
