Take your seats for the save-the-world show

Article Abstract:

Earth 2000 is a project launched by Mark Hiley to raise funds and promote environmental and conservation issues throughout the world. It plans to do this through a series of 12 missions undertaken by an international team made up of a scientist, a doctor, a photographer, a vehicle technician and a team leader. They will circumnavigate the earth following instructions on CD-Rom disks, with each of the 12 missions having an educational and a practical objective. The five will address specific environmental problems and will try to find solutions to these in the field. The missions will be televised to as much as 60 countries in the run-up to the year 2000. Earth 2000 has already obtained the support of high profile personalities and organizations, including Donald Trump, Ford Motors, the British Army and Rees Pollock.
