Tanex Plasty (TP) (Jaromer, Czech Republic), plastic automotive component manufacturer, expects a profit and proceeds of CEK 0.5 bil in 2001. In 2000 TP saw a loss of CEK 14.9 mil. The firm will cover the loss from its future profits. Reasons for the loss were floods on the Elbe river in Mar 2000. The floods caused the firm damages worth CEK 90 mil. TP's proceeds totalled CEK 430 mil in 2000, 29% more compared to 1999. The firm saw a profit of CEK 6.3 mil in 1999.

Spolana will cover its loss from reserves

Spolana (Neratovice, Czech Republic), chemical firm, saw a loss of CEK 250.7 mil in 2000. The firm will cover the loss from its reserve fund. In 2000 the company saw proceeds of CEK 9.1 bil. Spolana is the largest PVC manufacturer and the monopoly alpha-olefin producer in the Czech Republic.
