Tough questions

Article Abstract:

Good corporate governance is key to the continued success and survival of all enterprises regardless of size and requires that corporate directors ask tough questions and demand answers about the risks and degrees of risk faced by their organizations. Neglecting to ask the right questions about pertinent matters, such as the safety of pension plans, solvency of insurance carriers and environmental risks of resource exploration can lead to disastrous consequences. Accountants can play a significant role in ensuring that these tough questions get asked and are answered.
