Kingfisher is going to sell ready meals together with products from Woolworths and Superdrug in its new General Stores. The first one, at Palmer Green in north London, is to be opened on 28 February 2000 and the second one is to be placed in nearby Muswell Hill. Kingfisher's Woolwoorths General Store concept is a new Kingfisher's idea after an unsuccessful attempt to buy Asda.

UK: SCOTTISH COURAGE TO REVAMP OLD PECULIER

Article Abstract:

Theakston Old Peculier Ale is to be given a radical new look as part of Scottish Courage Brands' strategy of improving sales and distribution. The company is considering introducing two sizes of the ale, one of them coming in a smaller bottle to increase multipack sales. The revamped ale should appear on shelves in the first six months of the year 2000. At present, the best known brands such as Stella Artois and Budweiser are becoming increasingly popular but brewers are aware that they need to look to the future by being constantly in touch with the changing tastes of customers.
