Weir

Article Abstract:

Weir, a pump and engineering services company, saw shares rise following an unsolicited bid. The company's profits growth is continuing to be strong and its exposure to the adverse effects of the Far East crisis, strong sterling and weal oil have been misread. It has decent growth prospects in its core business of pumps, and engineering services are also important with scope to improve margins from the current 9%. Its profits growth could be above average in the medium term and the bid talk has emphasized its qualities.
