With eye to procurement, anti-fratricide systems to face off in NATO test

Article Abstract:

There will be a test of Defense electronics and technology contractor Cubic Corporation's Optical Combat Identification System (O-CIDS) at the Coalition Combat Identification Advanced Concepts Technology Demonstration field exercise. The test is conducted to assess how laser-radio-frequency (RF), infrared-based combat ID and other systems perform during the realistic force-on-force engagements involving dismounting soldiers and vehicles.

Companies demonstrate new ScanEagle capabilities

Article Abstract:

The Boeing Co. and the Insitu Group recently demonstrated new autonomy software aboard ScanEagle to pilot the aircraft through maneuvers. ScanEagle is a long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and the software embedded in it's auxiliary processor board allows the UAV to map its route autonomously while in flight and complete a series of maneuvers.

Boeing launches AWACS upgrade flight tests for NATO

Article Abstract:

The Boeing Co. announced that it has begin flight tests on the first of 17 NATO AWACS aircraft upgraded under a $1.3 billion contract to modernize the decades-old surveillance planes. The modernization includes integration of state-of-the-art enhancement to the fleet's computers, displays, communications, navigation and target identification systems.
