Wolfowitz says aerial tanker deal must be rebid

Article Abstract:

Paul Wolfowitz, Deputy Secretary of Defense states in his letter to Sen. John Warner, chairman of the Senate Armed Services committee, that the Air Force deal to acquire 100 aerial tanker refueling planes from the Boeing Co. must be re-bid. This step would help the Airbus Industry, a subsidiary of European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co., to wrest the Air Force tanker business away from Boeing.

Wolfowitz warns war on terrorism may last longer than Cold War

Article Abstract:

Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz has warned that the war against terrorism in Iraq could possibly last longer than the Cold War due the enormous challenge of transplanting democracy into the region. He also called for support on the war on terrorism and stated that the United States would have to stand up to the threat even in the absence of support from other countries.

Wolfowitz seeks technology for bio-defense systems

Deputy defense secretary Paul Wolfowitz stated that the U.S. needs to launch its own bio-defensive initiative to dissuade potential enemies from pursuing offensive biological warfare. Wolfowitz sketched the outlines of the manner in which the bio-defense research and development might be pursued.
