Zelezarny Veseli has been stopped, the firm is without gas

Zelezarny Veseli (ZV) (Veseli nad Moravou, Czech Republic), metallurgy firm, has to face a crisis. The firm's production has been stopped consequent on the stoppage of gas supplies from Jihomoravska plynarenska (JMP) (Czech Republic). JMP stopped the supplies owing to high debts. ZV saw proceeds of over CEK 1 bil in 2000, about CEK 700 mil less compared to 1999. The firm generated a loss of CEK 200 mil for 2000. Its debts towards banks exceed CEK 1 bil. ZV from the group Z-Group (Czech Republic) owned by Zdenek Zemek is the only firm he wants to keep and try to lead out of the crisis.

Zelezarny Chomutov lowers its loss

Zelezarny Chomutov (ZCH) (Chomutov, Czech Republic), steel company, saw a loss of CEK 334.1 mil in 2000, according to preliminary non-audited results. The firm's proceeds for the sales of its products and services totalled CEK 1.229 bil in 2000. In 1999 the company saw a loss of CEK 377.6 mil under proceeds of CEK 1.057 bil. ZCH is one of the eight subsidiaries of the subholding metallurgy company Z-Group (Czech Republic).

Metalimex increased its gross profit in 2000

Metalimex (Prague, Czech Republic), raw material trader, increased its gross profit by 14.5% to CEK 154.6 mil in 2000 compared to 1999. The firm's proceeds amounted to roughly CEK 15 bil in 2000, similarly as in 1999. Its proceeds rose by 69.1% in 1999 compared to 1998. Metalimex is an important firm in its field in the Czech Republic.
