Article Abstract:

The economic recession has resulted in the reduction of the work force in various businesses, causing limited job opportunities for new graduates. Employer recruiting offices and career services offices have responded to the situation by modifying their operations and maximizing their limited financial and manpower resources. Advancements in office technology and management techniques have allowed people to be productive even through these lean times and this gives prospects of a more productive future when the business atmosphere becomes better.

Two views on the (coming?) privatization of career services

Article Abstract:

The issue of privatization of campus services gains importance for colleges and universities in the wake of financial pressures and stress to use cost-effective methods of providing career services. The topic is researched from the viewpoint of business administration and career services. The profit motive of private companies participating in career services will defeat the goals of the academic institution and fail to serve the individual needs of students. However, selective privatization can improve the quality of career services.
