A lattice model for the simulation of diffusion in heterogeneous polymer systems. Simulation of apparent diffusion constants as determined by pulse-field-gradient nuclear magnetic resonance

Article Abstract:

A lattice model is presented based on an approach developed by Ediger to characterize diffusion as a function of time in heterogeneous media and at all compositions. The model demonstrates that apparent diffusion data from pulse-field-gradient nuclear magnetic resonance (PFG NMR) provide a new structural view of the heterogenetics in the system with more- and less- permeable domains.

Incorporation of fused tetrathiafulvalenes (TTFs) into polythiophene architectures: Varying the electroactive dominance of the TTF species in hybrid systems

Article Abstract:

A new polythienylenevinylene (PTV) and two polythiophenes (PTs), having fused tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) units were prepared and characterized by ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroelectrochemistry. Polymers 2 and 4 having the highest concentration of TTFs display redox behavior dictated by fulvalene system.

Synthesis and photophysical characteristics of 2,7-fluorenevinylene-based trimers and their electroluminescence

Article Abstract:

Three new 2,7-fluorenevinylene-based trimers are synthesized and characterized. The synthesis is conducted by the Heck coupling reaction of 9,9-dihexyl-2,7-divinylfluorene with 2-(4-bromophenyl)-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole, N,N-diphenyl-4-bromoaniline, or 3-bromopyrene to afford the trimers OXD, TPA, and PYR, respectively.
