Effect of temperature on hydrogen adsorption on Pt(111), Pt(110), and Pt(100) Electrodes in 0.1 M HCIO4

Article Abstract:

The temperature dependence of the voltammetric behavior for Pt(111), Pt(100), and Pt(110) electrodes in contact with a 0.1 M HCIO4 solution, where anion specific adsorption is considered to be absent is presented. Taking into account that both bonds have similar energies, the enthalpy of formation of the double-layer structure would not change in a significant way.

Characterization of the surface structure of gold nanoparticles and nanorods using structure sensitive reactions

Article Abstract:

The surface structure of gold nanorods is determined by studying the behavior of electrochemical reactions sensitive to the structure and compared to that obtained by other structure characterization techniques. Lead underpotential deposition reveals that the surface of the nanorods is composed by (111) and (110) domains, while (100) domains are practically absent from the surface.
