Bicarbs and beyond

Article Abstract:

H&I Agritech produces potassium bicarbonate-based fungicides under the Armicarb 100, FirstStep and Remedy brands. These products are being used in several applications, including Pacific Northwest apple orchards and hops fields, ornamental crops in Florida and late mildew outbreaks in grape vineyards. The fungicides are environmentally safe, with no disruptive side effects against humans or nature. H&I is also developing similar formulations for use against soil-borne pathogens.

Reaching new heights: the top 100 dealerships and cooperatives

Article Abstract:

Farm Chemicals magazine's survey of 100 dealerships and cooperatives consists of a group of firms serving US farmers that collectively generated over $12.6 billion in input sales from 3,613 areas in 1999. Most of the survey participants are ebullient about the prospects of their companies in 2000 and thereafter. The study also found that consolidation is still prevalent in the retail level of the agricultural product market.
