Bond energy prediction of Curie temperature of lithium niobate crystals

Article Abstract:

A unique way to express the Curie temperature ([T.sub.c]) and the spontaneous polarization ([P.sub.s]) of lithium niobate (LN) crystals is presented on the basis of the bond energy of constituent chemical bonds, which extends [T.sub.c] understanding of LN crystals on the structural level. The method gives a detailed insight of the ferroelectric behaviors of LN crystals and can be used to assess the ferroelectric behaviors of LN-type solids.

Room temperature synthesis of curved ammonium copper molybdate nanoflake and its hierarchical architecture

Article Abstract:

A new strategy was developed to synthesize curved ammonium copper molybdate nanoflakes on a copper surface by using a novel solution-phase approach at room temperature. The curved ammonium copper molybdate nanoflakes grow directly on the conducting copper substrate with good electrical contact and in addition using glucose as an additive to control the nucleation and growth process can lead to hierarchical sphere-like architecture.

Excited state absorption dynamics in metal cluster polymer [[W[S.sub.4][Cu.sub.3]I[(4-bpy).sub.3].sub.n] solution

Article Abstract:

The study results of the nonlinear absorptive property of a novel metal cluster [[W[S.sub.4][Cu.sub.3]I[(4-bpy).sub.3].sub.n] show that the cluster has strong nonlinear absorption under the 8 ns pulse excitation and a relatively weak nonlinear absorptive property under the picosecond pulse excitation.
