CZECH REPUBLIC: GABRIEL-CHEMIE SET UP BRANCH

Article Abstract:

Gabriel-Chemie GesmbH of Gumpoldskirchen, Austria, has set up production in the Czech Republic. Gabriel-Chemie Bohemia, which is based in Lazne Bohdanec, aims to generate a turnover of Sch 100mn within five years. The new firm is the fourth productive location of Gabriel-Chemie GesmbH, which claims to be Europe's biggest producer of concentrated colours and additives for the plastics industry. The group aims to raise turnover to Sch 1bn in five years.

Neue Elektrolyse-Technik bei Donau Chemie

The Vienna-based company Donau Chemie AG has placed a contract with Lurgi l Gas Chemie GmbH of Frankfurt and Lurgi Verfahrenstechnik GmbH of Vienna for the modernisation of electrolysis facility at the factory in Br ckl from mercury cells to the membrane technology developed by De Nora. The new electrolysis facility with an annual capacity of 62,000 tonnes of NaOH is to go on stream in July 1999. *

GERMANY: WACKER CHEMIE TO RECEIVE LINDE HYDROGEN

German Linde AG of Wiesbaden is to spend DM 31mn to set up a steamreformer for the production of hydrogen on its site in Burghausen. From the year 2000, the company is to supply larger amounts of hydrogen to Wacker-Chemie GmbH of Burghausen.
