EUROPE: FORECAST FOR BIOCIDES MARKET

Article Abstract:

A study by Frost & Sullivan predicts the European market for specialist biocides to grow at an annual rate of 2.1% to US$ 984mn in 2006. The new European Union directive from May 2000 is likely to result in concentration among manufacturers and reduce by up to 75% the number of biocide products on the market as a result of high costs of permit procedures. Currently no manufacturer holds more than 10% of the market.
