Chemical potential of a nonionic surfactant in solution

Article Abstract:

The chemical potential of a solution of the nonionic surfactant 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (POPC) in the polar solvent 3-hydroxypropionitrile at concentrations below and above the critical micelle concentration (cmc) is investigated. The results have shown that the solution displays an ideal behavior up to the cmc and that the chemical potential remains constant at concentrations larger than the cmc.

Photoacoustic analysis of matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization processes with the pulsed infrared lasers

Article Abstract:

Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) is an established technique for the analysis of a wide range of biomolecular compounds. The piezoelectric detection scheme helps to record the rate of material ejection in IR-MALDI with a temporal resolution of a few nanoseconds.

Time-resolved imaging of the plume dynamics in infrared matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization with a glycerol matrix

Article Abstract:

The dynamics of the expanding material plume after irradiation of a matrix sample with two different infrared (IR) lasers are investigated by imaging the plumes with nanosecond time resolution. The results reveal the analysis of the desorption process and the IR-laser postionization of the plume.
