Collections of copper nanocrystals characterized by different sizes and shapes: optical response of these nanoobjects

Article Abstract:

It is shown that spherical reverse micelles induce the spheres and also various other particle shapes like cubes, tetrahedral and ellipsoidal particles. A comparison of the HRTEM and transmission electron micrographs (TEM) results with the DNA simulations made for various shapes indicates that the additional resonance band is the proof of the presence of mainly decahedral nanocrystals with ellipsoidal particles and trigonal prisms.

Magnetite Fe3O4 nanocrystals: spectroscopic observation of aqueous oxidation kinetics

Article Abstract:

The oxidation of magnetite has been studied in solution namely, the loss of optical absorption in the near-IR region. The photoeffect on the oxidation has also been carefully studied and conclusion states that light has a very small effect on the oxidation process.

Is the anion the major parameter in the shape control of nanocrystals?

Article Abstract:

Copper nanocrytsals are produced by using Cu (AOT)2- isooctane- water solution as a template. Conclusions state that salts and/or impurities inside the colloidal template play the major role in the anisotropic nanocrystal growth.
