Comparison between calculated and experimental vibrational spectra of uridine and cytidine

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the analysis of the vibrational properties of uridine and cytidine, the two ribonucleosides containing the major RNA pyrimidine bases, are discussed. The joint use of the optical and neutron inelastic scattering spectroscopies made it possible to analyze vibrational modes of different natures.

Effects of OH radical addition on proton transfer in the guanine-cytosine base pair

Article Abstract:

The double proton transfer (PT) reactions in guanine-cytosine OH radical adducts studied by employing hybrid density functional B3LYP approach reveal that the formation of a partial ion pair might be a potential factor leading to the PT reactions being thermodynamically unfavored.
