Deuterium NMR study of the dynamics of self-assembled hexadecanoate monolayers on Zirconium oxide

Article Abstract:

In this investigation the measurements of (super 2) H NMR spectra of hexadecanoate molecules, perdeuterated (HDCA-D (sub 31)) and specifically deuterated at position 2 (HDCA-d (sub 2)), adsorbed on nonporous ZrO2 powder are presented. It is also shown that, within the temperature range the C2-D bonds of the attached HDCA molecules undergo reorientational motions with fast enough to affect the (super 2) H solid echo spectra.

Photoreactivity in self-assembled monolayers formed from asymmetric disulfides having para-substituted azobenzenes

Article Abstract:

The infrared reflection absorption (IR-RA) spectra indicate relatively ordered structures in the methylene parts for the C6AzSSC12 and HAzSSC12 self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). IT is observed that the substituent of the azobenzene moieties is also an important factor in regulating the photoreactivity as well as the SAM structures.

Segmental and local chain mobilities in elastomers by 13C-1H residual heteronuclear dipolar couplings

Article Abstract:

The evaluation of heteronuclear residual dipolar couplings between 13C and 1H in a series of natural rubber samples with different cross-link densities is reported. The site-selective residual dipolar couplings depend on the segmental motions and on local isomerization transitions.
